Melissa & Chris {Fort Collins Engagement Photography}

When I first met Melissa over Skype to visit about her upcoming shoot with fiancé Chris, even through the fuzzy connection and the casualness of sweats and pony tails which we both wore at the end of longs days, could not hide the excitement in her voice as we planned the perfect engagement shoot.

After 4 years of dating, a shorter engagement left little time for all the things which were still on this couple’s to do list.  As we discussed their soon to be sent save-the-date cards, Melissa’s graduation from nursing school right before the wedding, a move to the mountains where Chris teaches middle school history, and loads of other planning and details to be taken care of, that blustery day, the next step was engagement pictures, and so pictures we took.  I was honored to be a small part of Melissa and Chris’ journey to marriage, a small piece of their story, and a helper in getting them one fun step closer to their wedding day, which is much anticipated and I'm sure will be beautiful.

kasi & jeremy engaged {colorado springs, co}

I met Kasi & Jeremy in a beautiful down town Colorado Springs two weeks ago to photograph their engagement session.  Only engaged for a few weeks and getting married in March, this couple is both totally and completely in love, as well as being totally on the ball with wedding planning!  The fall colors were the perfect backdrop for this fun loving couple’s portraits and as we explored all the nooks and crannies down town had to offer us I saw more and more of their love for each other in each photo I snapped.  As always, our time flew by and I was sad to put my camera down after a few hours but alas I finally did.  Enjoy!

*a special thank you to my sister and brother-in-law who let us use their beautiful down town yard for a few shots!

becca & jr {Denver Engagement Photography}

They met during a last minute trip to China, she from Colorado Springs and he from Denver.  Even though they lived only an hour apart, if the missions trip hadn’t needed some last minute travelers they may have never met.  In this way it seems that God had ordained their meeting, and now many years later as they plan their fall wedding they’re thankful for that crazy summer.

When I met Becca and JR I was excited to work with such a beautiful and stylish couple who were so obviously in love and comfortable with each other.  They’d only been engaged for 3 weeks when we met so the glow was still fresh on their faces.  And especially we ended up employing Plan B with the shoot, they were happy to go with the flow.  The photos turned out even better that what I could have hoped for and I credit it all to this beautiful couple.

So congratulations Becca & JR!  I’m sure you’re lives together will be beautiful and blessed.  I hope I’ll have the pleasure of seeing you around and maybe working with you again in the future.  Your love was such a joy to photograph.

Miranda & Jim {Denver Engagement Photography}

This morning, these bright engagement photos are definitely what I needed to look at and blog because of the dreary cold outside, as well as a Dr. appointment this morning where they ordered extra blood work that I now have to fast for...yuck!  Coming home to blog this mini-engagement session is definitely helping my day look up!

Miranda and Jim's wedding is coming up in June and I'm already excited for the sorei which I know will be amazing because of Miranda's amazing skills and experience in the wedding industry.  And when she called and said that she and Jim were wanting a few engagment photos, even though I'm not really shooting right now I just couldn't say no - one because this couple just has fabulous style and a fun loving nature, and two because I am dearly missing shooting.  So we met in down town, just a quick jont from these two's down town apartment, on a quit Sunday morning.  The streets were all ours, the sun was bright and these two were ready for their close up along with their dog, Fatty.  Believe it or not, we only shot for about 30 minutes and these pictures came out so great!  I think I owe it all to these two and their obvious comfort being in each other's arms...so romantic if you ask me.

Anyway, enjoy and have a great weekend!  I'm off to do some work on Henry's room.  I'll be back next week with a wedding post that will blow your mind!

Miranda was invistioning pops of red, which anyone who knows me knows I fully supported.  This great red umbrella definitely did the trick!

Fatty was so cute and sweet...one of the most well behaved dogs I've ever encountered! I hope he comes to the wedding :)

Glorious Sunday morning sun...there's nothing better, especially in the winter time!
