Kasi & Jeremy {Wedding Photography: Colorado Springs, CO}

When I’m writing about especially special couples, I often look above me to the cork boards above my glowing computer screen where I keep many of my favorite photos, things to remember, and lots of scraps of paper with scribbled quotes, poems and saying.  As I did this tonight thinking about Jeremy and Kasi, one of my favorite quotes from Emily Dickenson popped out:

“ Love is anterior to life,

Posterior to death,

Initial to creation, and

The exponent of breath.”

This is the kind of love I was honored to witness working with Jeremy and Kasi on their wedding day.  Their love was obviously the kind that produces joy and laughter, not only in each other, but also in their family and friends.  It was built on a foundation of patience, making the wedding day even more extravagantly lovely to watch.

Let’s just say that these two breathed their love for each other all day on their wedding day.  I’m sure that they will continue to create love for the rest of their lives.

The bride writing her vows.

A very emotional At First Sight.

The moments before walking down the aisle.

The Bride & Groom exited the Chapel into the most beautiful sun set...I obviously couldn't resist photographing the the intimate celebration.

Beautiful details.

PARTY!

Yes, they cut the cake with a saber.

It's Caitlin & I, sneaking in a picture before this gorgeous night came to a close.

All Photos & Events took place at The Pinery, Colorado Springs, CO

A special thanks as always to my amazing 2nd shooter, Caitlin, who is my second pair of eyes and who helps me be in two places at once.  I owe her credit for some of the celebration and detail shots here. :)

Jim & Miranda {Wedding Portraiture: Denver, CO}

Location: Dunafon Castle

“Once upon a time there was a boy who loved a girl, and her laughter was a question he wanted to spend his whole life answering.”
― Nicole KraussThe History of Love

When I read this quote from The History of Love (a new novel I’m getting ready to read,) I thought of this post and this lovely couple, Jim & Miranda.  Their story was an intricate one, filled with the details and happenstance that only two people fated to be together can claim.  The beautiful thing is that Jim, a man of honor and patience with a splash of fun loving jokester, is now spending his days answering to the laugh of the breath taking Miranda.  One of the most amazing brides I’ve ever had the privilege to work with, not only was Miranda jolly and the ultimate fashion plate, but her tenderness and love toward Jim was touching and obvious to all.  Her laugh was contagious and could be heard throughout the evening as they celebrated their love with intimate friends and family in the perfect castle wedding.  Not only is their love an inspiration, but I’m sure their perfect, romantic castle wedding will be for many a bride as well.

   To Jim and Miranda, I hope your lives will be filled with the laughter and joy that permeated your wedding day.  You deserve it.

zachary & jamie married {denver wedding photography}

Yesterday we had the honor of being featured on Couture Colorado's wedding blog and we were so excited!  I'd love for you to check out the links in the post from yesterday to see all the fabulous details, venders, etc.  I just wanted to post a few of my favorite portraits, especially some of my favorite black and whites, from the day that these two love birds tied the knot.

Also, I have to give a huge shout out to my amazing 2nd shooter Caitlin.  She's faithfully been by my side for 2 years now and this wedding especially, I could not have done it without her.  I'm so thankful for her artistic eye, willingness to always help and primp (me and whoever is in front of the camera,) and free spirit that keeps me from getting to crazy and OCD about everything.  Anyway, I couldn't have done this year or this wedding without her and I'm grateful.  Here's to dancing on the roof Caitlin!  Love ya girl!

i love this angle of black and whites by Caitlin...

...and colors by me :)

paul & nicole get married {fort collins wedding photography}

Paul & Nicole got married on what felt like the last day of summer. Their day was filled with joy, expressed through their smiles and laughter, as you can tell from these pictures. I'm sure their lives together will be no different.

Waiting...
